To help you match your expectations to your ability we have borrowed the ski rating system and applied it to our adventures. Many of you will already be familiar with it. for the non-skiers, see the explanation to the right.

 

Green Circle Adventures 

These are the easiest routes we offer; they are generally flat and cover relatively relaxed distances. Beginners will be comfortable riding a hybrid, paddling a light kayak, or wearing tennis shoes, and will normally have time to take many photos and enjoy extended lunches.

The difficulty will vary with weather and/or road conditions. If you are unsure, choose a guided trip. The vehicle support can help you get over any hill, and can turn even the most difficult trip into an easy one!

We encourage you to be adventurous and try something slightly above your ability. You may impress yourself and break some personal goals! Check out these featured itineraries:


Iceland: West Walk June 18 - 24, 2011
7 days of easy walking and hiking. You will be perennially awestruck by the scenery in Iceland; steaming lava fields of Reykjanes Peninsula, the incredible oasis of Thorsmörk Valley, and a white glacial waterfall cascading 105 feet into a narrow canyon, leaving a rainbow in its wake.

Nova Scotia: Summerville Beach Yoga Weekend May 12 - 15, 2011
3 days of walking, yoga and tranquility at the ocean’s edge. Summerville Beach is a treasure and home to the Quarterdeck Beachside Villas, where you will rest to the perennial sound of the surf. The group is limited to six so please call with any questions.

France: Bike Canals from Carcassonne to Bordeaux October 1 - 8, 2011
8 days to get intimate with rural France as you trace an ancient thoroughfare linking the Mediterranean Sea with the Atlantic Ocean. The level canals are dotted with locks, each one a tiny hub of activity for the cozy hamlets surrounding them. The well worn trails are perfect for contemplative cycling.
