A fairly relaxed ride on primarily level terrain, with some hilly sections. Expect long stretches of bike paths winding along rivers and the East Sea. The route is largely on separated bike paths and secondary roads, with the option to van transfer to avoid major mountain climbs.

Start: GLAD Hotel Yeouido, 15:00, Day 1. The Airport Railroad Express Train (AREX) is the fastest option to get from Incheon Airport to Seoul. In 45 minutes, you will be at Seoul Station with the option to bus, taxi, or subway closer to your lodging.

Finish: Busan Station, 9:00, Day 12. Board a KTX train direct to Seoul Station or Gwangmyeong Station. From here, board a limo or the Airport Railroad Express Train (AREX) to Incheon Airport.

DAY 1:

Introductions to Seoul.

Meet your guides at your hotel for bike introductions and a welcome dinner with the group. Arriving early? Explore Seoul’s Myeongdong Shopping District, relax at a cat café, explore K-Star Road, or visit the historic Gyeongbokgung Palace.

DAY 2:

Seoul to Namyangju ~53km (+440m / -430m).

Begin your cycling adventure from your Seoul hotel, following the Cheonggyecheon Stream and Han River bike paths. Enjoy the peaceful, traffic-free ride as the urban landscape gives way to rural Korea. Pass through Yangpyeong, a favorite getaway for locals, and visit Dumulmeori, where the Bukhangang and Namhangang Rivers converge.

DAY 3:

Namyangju to Yeoju ~56km (+430m / -420m).

Today’s ride continues to follow the Han River and Namhan River bike paths, offering quieter trails as you near the foothills of the mountains. Enjoy serene views and a relaxing pace before arriving in Yeoju. In the afternoon, visit the historic Silleuksa Temple, beautifully set along the riverbank. Your evening offers a variety of dining options just outside of town.

DAY 4:

Yeoju to Chungju ~61km (+500m / -460m).

Today’s ride along the Namhan River Bike Path is a highlight of the journey. Pedal along a disused railway, passing through quiet, shaded tunnels and crossing a striking bridge with sweeping views of the South Han River. Arrive in Chungju, a city known for its scenic riverside setting and relaxed atmosphere. Unwind at your hotel or take a leisurely walk to explore local markets and riverside cafes.

DAY 5:

Chungju to Mungyeong ~56km (+1030m / -820m).

Today’s ride transitions into the mountains as you leave the bike paths behind and tackle the Saejae Bicycle Path. First, you will take on Saejae Pass, a climb so high that its name translates to “a pass so high even the birds cannot cross.” Soon after, you’ll face another ascent at Ihwaryung. Along the way, frequent rest areas provide plenty of opportunities to pause, enjoy the crisp mountain air, and take in views of the Baekdu-daegan range. The journey brings you to Mungyeong, a peaceful mountain town known for its restorative hot springs. Unwind at one of the local jjimjilbangs or simply enjoy the serene surroundings of this historic region.

DAY 6:

Mungyeong to Andong Folk Village ~85km (+470m / -670m).

Today’s ride takes you through the scenic Mungyeong Saejae Park, where you’ll cycle beside tranquil streams and rivers, surrounded by lush farmland and rice paddies. The terrain offers a mix of gentle paths and rolling hills, showcasing the serene countryside. Your journey concludes in Andong, a vibrant city renowned for its cultural heritage. You'll stay here for two nights, with tomorrow dedicated to exploring the Andong Folk Village, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where traditional practices have been preserved for over two millennia.

DAY 7:

Andong Folk Village to Andong City ~30km (+280m / -260m) (or transfer).

Today is a day for exploration at your own pace. You can choose to leave your bike behind and explore Andong and its surroundings by van, or for those feeling more energetic, bike the 30km to your next hotel in the city. Meet your support person or guide in the morning for a tour of the Andong Hahoe Folk Village, the nearby Buyongdae Observatory for a bird’s-eye view, and the historic Bongjeongsa Temple, believed to be the oldest wooden building in Korea, dating back to 672. This evening, head over to Andong Old Market, where you can sample the famous Andong jjimdak, a spicy stewed chicken dish inspired by ancient recipes.

DAY 8:

Andong City to Cheongsong ~63km (+920m / -790m).

Today’s ride takes you from the city of Andong to the rural town of Cheongsong. As you leave the city behind, you'll tackle some challenging climbs as you ascend into the foothills, with steep gradients that offer both a physical challenge and stunning views. The route takes you through a peaceful, rural landscape, cycling past scenic farmland, small villages, and winding roads that lead deeper into Korea's beautiful mountain terrain. After your ride, unwind at your lodging for the night, where you can enjoy the therapeutic Solgi Hot Springs, the perfect way to soothe tired muscles.

DAY 9:

Cheongsong to Pohang ~84km (+1095m / -1320m).

As you approach Pohang, the landscape shifts from rugged mountain roads to the coastal beauty of the city. Pohang is renowned for its stunning beaches and fresh seafood, especially its famous snow crabs. The city has scenic bike paths, with the route leading you to Yeongildae Beach. Your hotel here boasts excellent ocean views, offering a peaceful retreat after a challenging day of cycling. Be sure to indulge in a snow crab feast, a popular local delicacy.

DAY 10:

Pohang to Gyeongju ~34km (+215m / -197m).

The final cycling day takes you along the Pohang/Gyeongju bike path into the historic city of Gyeongju. The relatively easy ride allows you to arrive in the afternoon, giving you ample time to explore the city’s rich cultural heritage. Known as a "museum without walls," Gyeongju is home to countless historical treasures. Tonight, you'll stay at a comfortable hotel in downtown Gyeongju, offering modern amenities and easy access to the city's remarkable sites.

DAY 11:

Busan Sightseeing.

After breakfast, a short transfer will take you to Shin-Gyeongju train station to catch a speedy 30-minute KTX bullet train to Busan. Once there, explore the vibrant Gamcheon Culture Village with its colorful houses, murals, shops, and cafes, or visit the famous Jagalchi Seafood Market, the largest in Korea. Later, you’ll settle into your beachside luxury lodging, where you can unwind and enjoy your final dinner with your group mates and guides, reflecting on your unforgettable journey.

The best time to enjoy this tour is Spring or Autumn.

Spring: April to early June is the best time for mild weather and cherry blossoms, usually around 15°C to 23°C (59°F to 73°F)
Autumn: in September to late October temperatures are cool but comfortable, 19°C to 25°C range (67°F to 77°F)
